The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RFPI) announced that Russia and the USA have started discussions about joint projects related to rare earth metals. According to "Kommersant," some companies have already expressed interest in these projects. Cooperation in this field is seen as crucial for both countries.

Near Siberian Krasnoyarsk, there are large plants that produce approximately 850,000 metric tonnes of aluminum annually. This accounts for 25% of Russia's production of this metal.

Kirrill Dmitriev, head of RFPI, who was part of the Russian delegation in the talks with the USA, emphasized the significance of rare earth metals for international cooperation.

After the first meeting in February, Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested the possibility of involving foreign partners, including the USA, in projects related to these metals.

Additionally, Putin proposed launching a joint project with American companies concerning aluminum mining in Krasnoyarsk.

This is another step towards strengthening economic cooperation between Russia and the USA, which could benefit both sides.
