The talks in Muscat were the first high-level contacts between the USA and Iran since 2022. End of Russia-USA talks?
Lavrov's declaration came a few hours after statements made by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who stated on Friday that the United States is ready to withdraw from mediating the potential end of the war in Ukraine.
