Russian attack in Ukraine: Children among the victims
"A Russian missile hit an ordinary city, a street in an area filled with residential buildings. Preliminary reports indicate it was a ballistic missile attack. So far, 14 fatalities have been confirmed, including six children. I offer my condolences to their families and loved ones," wrote the Ukrainian president.
Zelensky reports that the rescue operation is still ongoing, and at least five residential buildings have been damaged. "Russian attacks happen every day. People die every day. There is only one reason why this happens: Russia does not want a ceasefire, and we see it. The whole world sees it," reads Volodymyr Zelensky's post.
"Every missile, every assault drone proves that Russia seeks only war. And only the world's pressure on Russia, all efforts to strengthen Ukraine, our air defences, and our forces — can decide when the war will end. The United States, Europe, and the rest of the world have the capacity to force Russia to abandon terror and war. And this must be ensured — peace is needed," he wrote.
Zelensky attached photos following the attack, but they are too graphic to publish. Bodies lie on the streets.
