The ballistic missile was said to have been launched from Russia's Astrakhan region, located by the Caspian Sea. The Ukrainian military's statement does not specify what kind of intercontinental missile was used in the attack. At this moment, verifying the authenticity of the Ukrainian military's claims is impossible.

The Ukrainian side also has not revealed what type of ballistic missile was launched from Russia or whether it hit its target.

Additionally, the Russian army launched a Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal" missile and seven Kh-101 cruise missiles at Dnipro. Six of them were shot down.

The rockets initially flew towards Kyiv, then changed course towards Poltava before striking the Dnipro region after another manoeuvre.

"Since the early morning hours, the aggressor has been massively attacking the Dnipro region. The consequences are still being determined. It is currently known that an industrial enterprise in Dnipro has been damaged. There were also two fires in the city," reported Serhiy Lysak, head of the region's military authorities, on Telegram.
