Russian soldiers suffer poisoning in failed Sudzha incursion

Russian soldiers who traversed through a gas pipeline into Sudzha, which was then held by Ukrainians in the Kursk region, are suffering from numerous complications due to poisoning. Doctors have shown the lungs of one of the military personnel who participated in Operation "Potok" in the Kursk region.

The Kursk-based Telegram channel "Pepel" published a recording of a conversation—allegedly with one of the doctors examining the Russian soldiers involved in the operation to infiltrate the Ukrainian forces in Sudzha via the gas pipeline.

Russians entered Sudzha through an inactive pipeline

According to the man visible in the recording, the soldiers have been experiencing symptoms of poisoning and shortness of breath for "three to four days."

In the longer term, the patients face "delayed effects."

The soilders have been treated for four days. — It’s still delayed, and the consequences are still unknown. This is the first time we’ve seen this. First time in the world, really, — said one of the doctors.

The medical staff report that the soldiers exhibit symptoms of poisoning, shortness of breath, and other issues.

Comparing the lungs of a person with pneumonia to those of the military personnel, it is evident that the soldiers' lungs are "blocked" and opaque in X-ray images.

Operation "Potok" in the Kursk region

On March 8th, during the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the Sudzha region, Russian soldiers entered Sudzha through an inactive gas pipeline with a diameter of approximately 4.6 feet. The operation was named "Potok."

As reported then by Russian war correspondents, some soldiers inside the pipeline suffocated due to methane that remained in the installation.

The operation—according to the Russian side—was intended to aid in the recapture of Sudzha from the Ukrainians.

The Ukrainian side, however, claims that the Russian military attempt was thwarted — soldiers were stopped at the pipeline's exit.

As reported by the DeepState portal on Wednesday, the area of the Kursk region in western Russia under Ukrainian military control has slightly decreased. According to the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Armed Forces of Ukraine have meanwhile advanced in the Belgorod region, also in western Russia.
