Oncilla vehicles, manufactured by the Mista company from Stalowa Wola, have been deployed in Ukraine for a substantial period. The Ukrainian army has consistently evaluated them as crucial on the front line, noting features such as their impressive speed. This Polish version of the Ukrainian Dozor-B transporter is also valued for its protection and equipment that meet NATO standards. However, the Russians have managed to capture one of these vehicles during an operation in the Kursk region.

The Russians captured an Oncilla vehicle

The capture of an Oncilla by the Russians marks the first such event, which could influence future military actions. These vehicles have been commended by Ukrainians for their reliability and protection, making them a valuable capture for the adversary. The Oncilla, taken by the Russians, may be used by the aggressor's army to become familiar with the technology used in these machines.

It's worth noting that the Oncilla, produced by the Polish company Mista, is nearly 5.5 metres long and 2.5 metres wide. It is powered by an engine with approximately 200 horsepower, allowing it to reach speeds of 120 km/h. The vehicle is capable of travelling 700 kilometres on a full tank of fuel.

The offensive capabilities of the Polish vehicle are provided by a weapon station equipped with a 12.7 mm calibre NSW machine gun. Crew protection is ensured by armour that meets the second level of the STANAG 4569 standard. Additionally, the Oncilla is equipped with a thermal imaging camera, effectively detecting enemy positions.
