Russia's information warfare targets Ukrainian morale. Large missile and bomb attacks on Ukrainian cities said to be false reports
Ukrainian intelligence warns against false information in the media regarding potential Russian air raids on cities. According to the services, this attempts to decrease morale and intimidate Ukrainians. At the same time, the published messages are said to have grammatical errors typical of Russians.
Ukrainian military intelligence reported on Wednesday about the spread of false news on social media, allegedly in its name, regarding the threat of a "particularly massive" missile attack on Ukrainian cities. The ministry emphasizes that this information is false and is part of Russia's information warfare.
The terrorist state is conducting a large-scale informational and psychological assault on Ukraine. According to a statement from the Military Intelligence of Ukraine (HUR), false reports are being circulated via messengers and social networks, claiming a supposedly imminent and exceptionally large missile and bomb attack on Ukrainian cities.
Military intelligence states: "this message is a fake, containing grammatical errors typical of Russian information-psychological operations. We urge you to trust only information from official sources and spokespersons of The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine."
Russians are trying to intimidate Ukrainian citizens
According to HUR, the enemy, unable to subdue the Ukrainians by force, resorts to methods of intimidation and psychological pressure on society. At the same time, intelligence reminds citizens not to ignore warnings about air raids, which are safer to wait out in a shelter, and appeals for calm.
The upcoming winter will undoubtedly be marked once again by Russian attempts to intimidate and decrease the morale of Ukrainians. Even now, increased attacks on Ukraine's critical infrastructure can be observed.
