Solovyov's execution call ignites backlash among Russian war bloggers
Kremlin propagandist Vladimir Solovyov called for the execution of the conscript who filmed the drone attack on a Russian airbase. His words sparked outrage among Russian war bloggers.
– Can we execute him, this conscript? Just take this scum and shoot him in front of everyone as a traitor to the homeland – declared Vladimir Solovyov on his show broadcast on Rossiya1.
Bloggers outraged by the propagandist's words
Bloggers are Russian propagandist internet creators who support Russia's war against Ukraine and back the Kremlin's line. Their name comes from the letter "Z", which became a symbol of the invasion – it was painted on Russian military vehicles.
This pertains to a recording made on Sunday by a Russian conscript. The young soldier recorded not only his face but also the aftermath of the Ukrainian drone attack on the airbase. Several burning vehicles can be seen. The man swears.
His words caused outrage among Russian war bloggers. "This piece of trash has lost it again. From impunity" – wrote the channel "Romanov Light."
Another blogger wrote: "And why does no one blame those in the Ministry of Defence responsible for educational and political work? So, we are supposed to execute a teenager who panicked and reached for his phone because he was raised in civilian life with modern ideology, while those who should have instilled military discipline and a new army ideology – reward? Who was supposed to turn a TikTok-raised, consumption-focused boy into a homeland defender with a sense of responsibility?" – responded Roman Alekhin to Solovyov.
Operation "Spider Web". Kremlin remains silent
On Sunday, the Security Service of Ukraine targeted airbases where the Russian strategic air forces were stationed. As part of operation "Spider Web," 41 machines were destroyed, including A-50, Tu-95, Tu-22 M3, and Tu-160 aircraft. Experts have no doubt that the Ukrainian raid was "the most impressive and successful operation of the entire war."
Vladimir Putin has remained silent for over an hour after a series of incidents that occurred in Russia – first, railway bridges in the Bryansk and Kursk regions were blown up, and then Russian strategic air force bases were subject to an unprecedented strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
