Sophie Turner wins custody battle, returns to the UK with kids

According to British media, "Game of Thrones" actress Sophie Turner plans to move back to the UK permanently with her children after resolving a custody dispute with her ex-husband Joe Jonas. It seems the children will stay with their mother, despite the scandal she faced.

Sophie Turner (29) and Joe Jonas (35) separated in 2023 after four years of marriage and raising two daughters together – Willa (4) and Delphine (2). After the split, the couple argued over where their children should reside. Initially, they planned to share custody of the children, but the situation became complicated when Sophie accused Joe of keeping their daughters in the US and withholding their passports.

Turner and Jonas divorce

According to the "Daily Mail," the dispute was resolved in January 2024 as part of the divorce proceedings, and Sophie is preparing to return to the UK with her daughters. The actress is looking for schools for them, and the girls are to live permanently with her in the UK.

Since October 2023, Sophie has been dating Peregrine Pearson (30), the son and heir to the Viscount of Cowdray. The couple made their public debut in February 2024 during the Year of the Dragon celebration by Stanley Zhu in London.

Following "Game of Thrones," Sophie appeared in the ITV series "Joan" and in the adaptation of "The Staircase" alongside Colin Firth. Rumours suggest she is being considered for the role of Lara Croft in a new adaptation. The fact that she was working came to light shortly after the divorce news broke. The media reported that Turner was working and socializing, seemingly unconcerned with her role as a mother. She was accused of being responsible for the breakdown of the marriage, which she commented on in an interview:

– There were some days that I didn’t know if I was going to make it. I would call my lawyer saying, ‘I can’t do this. I just can’t.’ I was just never strong enough to stand up for myself. And then, finally, after two weeks of me being in a rut, she reminded me that it was my children I was fighting for. Once anyone says to me, ‘Do it for your kids,’ I’m doing it. I wouldn’t do it for myself, but I’ll find the strength for them – yes.

She recounted that when news of the divorce leaked, she was contracted for two weeks on the set of a new production and couldn't return to her children. The media portrayed her as a neglectful mother. – It hurt because I really do completely torture myself over every move I make as a mother — mum guilt is so real! – she said.

Joe Jonas continues his music career with his brothers Kevin and Nick. The Jonas Brothers recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of their debut album by organizing a fan convention in New Jersey. They will soon embark on a world tour and plan to release a new album and Disney movie "A Very Jonas Christmas."

Joe also announced his second solo album, "Music for People Who Believe In Love," set to be released at the end of May. In an interview with the "Hollywood Reporter," he admitted that some of the songs are inspired by his breakup with Sophie but emphasized: "I’m not trying to put stuff on blast. I have a beautiful life that I’m grateful for. I’ve got two beautiful kids. I’m a happy person, and the music needed to resemble that — but also, the journey to get here I’m not trying to put stuff on blast. I have a beautiful life that I’m grateful for. I’ve got two beautiful kids. I’m a happy person, and the music needed to resemble that — but also, the journey to get here."
