Sriracha mayo: The spicy twist to elevate your Easter feast

The upcoming Easter is once again sparking all sorts of discussions about mayonnaise, which we eagerly use in holiday dishes. Lately, I've been enhancing this product with a certain exotic sauce, and the effect has won over the hearts of my loved ones.

As Easter approaches, the topic of mayonnaise always comes up. We debate which company makes the best one, search for homemade recipes, or question the nutritional benefits of this condiment. One thing is certain: it is quite versatile—its velvety, delicate taste appeals to the majority of Canadians. Although for me, it can be a bit... boring. So, if I have mayonnaise in the fridge, I enhance it with sriracha sauce from Thailand. This creates a spicy, creamy mixture that will elevate the flavour of any dish.

Sriracha mayonnaise recipe

Sriracha mayonnaise is an excellent addition to fries, burgers, tortillas, casseroles, and more. In a spicy version, it will even work for Easter eggs. Sriracha sauce is currently available in most supermarkets, so finding it shouldn't be a problem. In the recipe, I also use one clove of garlic, but it's optional. You can substitute lemon for lime if you prefer. It's important to adjust the ingredients and their proportions to your preferences.

Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons of mayonnaise,
  • 2 tablespoons of sriracha sauce,
  • 1 clove of garlic,
  • 1 teaspoon of lime juice,
  • a pinch of salt.

Preparation:

  1. In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise with sriracha.
  2. Add pressed garlic and lime juice.
  3. Season with a pinch of salt and mix thoroughly.
