Stan Lee's daughter defends against abuse allegations
Stan Lee's estate, the father of Marvel, was worth approximately $50 million (69 million CAD). Rumour has it that the star was financially exploited, turned into a travelling circus to extract as much money from people as possible. There are also reports of violence allegedly used by his daughter. The woman finally comments.
The daughter of the legendary Marvel creator, Stan Lee, J.C. Lee, in an interview with Business Insider addressed earlier accusations of abusing her parents. She called them "all lies" and denied any physical abuse toward her father and mother. Let's recall that in March this year, there were once again reports that in his last years, Stan became a money-making machine for other people around him, claiming that he was exploited and abused.
Stan Lee's daughter responds to allegations
Does Stan Lee need an introduction? Well, he is the legendary comic book creator, writer, producer, and father of Marvel, who could be seen in cameo roles in nearly every film by this studio. Thanks to him, the small Marvel Comics became one of the largest publishers in the world, evolving into a multimillion-dollar brand. The creator of Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, Hulk, and the X-Men died in 2018 at the age of 95 after battling pneumonia.
He spent the last years of his life in seclusion, in a rather hopeless situation. It had already been mentioned earlier that Stan Lee might have been exploited by some people in his circle to make money.
Despite his deteriorating health, Lee still participated in events related to signing memorabilia and photo sessions. Stan Lee, whose estate at the time of his death was reportedly as high as $50 million (69 million CAD), was said to have been exploited by various collaborators. "I had no idea how badly he had been exploited, and that’s a message people need to hear," commented one of his last writers, Mark Waid, who is working towards the release of the film "Stan Lee: The Final Chapter." In this production, the creators aim to reveal what Lee experienced during the last years of his life.
Stan Lee's daughter spoke out on the matter. She responds to allegations made against her a few years ago, suggesting she might have physically abused her father. It was reported that J.C. allegedly attacked her parents in 2014 after discovering her new Jaguar was leased under her father's name instead of her own.
In an interview with "Business Insider," J.C. Lee denies these accusations, saying: "I never touched my parents." She admits she yelled at them but was never physically aggressive. "It's all lies," she stated, adding that she regrets not addressing these allegations publicly earlier.
According to "Business Insider," five people close to Stan Lee confirmed they had not seen any abuse from J.C. Lee. After Stan Lee's death, his company POW! Entertainment took over the rights to his image and intellectual property. J.C. Lee attempted to reclaim these rights, suing the company in 2019 and again in 2023. She alleges that questionable financial dealings reduced her ownership stake and that she never received the payments outlined in a previous agreement. In her view, her father's associates ended up seizing all the assets. "I feel these people have taken my life, and they're eating off gold utensils and I'm eating off plastic," she said.
