Prime Minister Keir Starmer first travelled to Washington for talks with Donald Trump and then hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Downing Street, just a day after a loud dispute at the White House.

Starmer hosted leaders from European countries, Canada, and top EU and NATO officials the next day.

This diplomatic round has boosted Starmer's support. According to the YouGov survey, the percentage of Britons who view the prime minister positively rose to 31%, up from 26% in mid-February. Starmer has faced several issues in recent months, including those related to migration.

Trump loses, Zelensky gains

At the same time, 80% of Britons view Donald Trump negatively. 73% of respondents expressed critical views about the US president two weeks ago.

The media point out that Trump has lost support even among right-wing Reform UK voters. Since mid-February, the percentage of these individuals with an unfavourable opinion of the US president has increased by 25 percentage points to 53%.

The percentage of Britons viewing Volodymyr Zelensky positively rose from 64% to 71%. The most significant change was noted among Reform UK voters. In mid-February, 49% had a positive view of the Ukrainian president, which has now risen to 62%. Thus, Zelensky has become more popular among right-wing voters in the UK than Donald Trump.
