Taylor Swift faces backlash at Super Bowl; Trump weighs in
Taylor Swift made an appearance on Sunday at the Super Bowl finale in New Orleans. She was booed by some fans. President Donald Trump seized the opportunity to criticize her for supporting his competitor during the presidential elections.
American singer Taylor Swift performed for the second consecutive year at the Super Bowl. The Kansas City Chiefs, the team her boyfriend Travis Kelce plays for, were defeated this time. Swift herself was met with boos from some of the stadium's fans.
President Donald Trump was also at the game in New Orleans, having arrived on Air Force One. Shortly after the game, he posted on his Instagram profile, commenting on the fans' reaction to Taylor Swift.
"The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!" Trump wrote, referencing his campaign slogan: "Make America Great Again" (MAGA).
Why this reaction? During the presidential elections in the U.S., Taylor Swift was among the stars who openly supported Trump's competitor, Kamala Harris.
