Immediately after being sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump ordered mass deportation operations of illegal immigrants. Arrests also began, as widely reported on social media. This elicited reactions from many well-known individuals, including Selena Gomez.

The singer posted a video on Instagram in which she was visibly in tears, lamenting the authorities' decision. Her father, Ricardo Joel Gomez, has Mexican roots. The video quickly disappeared from her profile but was preserved on X service.

I just wanted to say how very sorry I am. All my people are being targeted... even children. I don't understand this. I'm so very sorry. I wish I could help somehow, but I don't even know what I could do. I'll try everything in my power. I promise - she said.

Tom Homan, a police officer, acting as the "border czar" in Donald Trump's administration, responded to Selena Gomez's emotional video in an interview with "Fox News." Homan emphasized that the administration does not intend to apologize for its actions, which aim to enhance the country's security.

The official added that the administration's actions are lawful and aim at deporting individuals with criminal backgrounds. He noted that the Trump administration focuses on potential threats to public and national security, and children are not the target of these actions.

Selena Gomez removed her video due to the criticism she received, which some interpreted as an admission of wrongdoing. Megyn Kelly criticized the actress for "crocodile tears" and attempting to manipulate fans' emotions.

The Trump administration is intensifying deportation actions, especially in sanctuary cities like Chicago and San Francisco. According to the "Daily Mail," Donald Trump expects the number of arrests to increase to 450-700 daily.
