Tragedy in Tver: Father suspected in murder of four children
A horrific crime took place in the Tver region of Russia. The bodies of four children were found in a house, and their father is suspected of the murder. He then attempted to take his own life.
According to the prosecutor's office, the children were discovered in a private home in the village of Mezurka, within the Tver region. Investigators from Tver believe that the father is responsible for the murders.
The man attempted to commit suicide and is currently hospitalized. Criminal charges for murder have been filed. The family had six children.
"The gravest sin"
Family members of the murdered children are receiving necessary support, assured Larysa Mosolygina, the commissioner for children's rights in the region.
"These days leading up to the holidays have been overshadowed by the tragedy that struck the large family living in Mezurka. Four children have died. All essential investigative actions are being conducted. The family is getting the required assistance. I will not disclose further details," wrote Mosolygina on her VKontakte social media profile.
She also emphasized that "the murder of an innocent child is one of the gravest sins in every religion, with no justification or forgiveness, not softened by any circumstances or reasons."
