Trump and Putin hint at dialogue for Ukraine peace deal

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt confirmed that Donald Trump believes in ending the war between Russia and Ukraine. According to the U.S. president, Vladimir Putin aims for the same. Karoline Leavitt confirmed that the Russians have communicated preliminary conditions for ending the war with Ukraine. However, she did not want to specify what those conditions are. The White House spokeswoman stated that the motivation for the Russians would be the "economic partnership" between Russia and the USA.

Leavitt stated that Donald Trump is pleased with the talks between Vladimir Putin and his envoy, Steve Witkoff. The president's administration believes that the consultations in St. Petersburg were a "productive conversation."

There is an incentive for Russia to end this war and perhaps that could be economic partnerships with the United States. But we need to see a ceasefire first and the president and the presidential envoy, Witkoff, made that very clear to the Russians, Karoline Leavitt told the assembled journalists during a short briefing.

The condition for ending the conflict is a ceasefire. "He made this clear"

The White House spokeswoman conveyed that Steve Witkoff clearly emphasized that the first step to ending the war is a ceasefire. The Russians were also given a specific deadline by which the conflict between Russia and Ukraine should be resolved.

Karoline Leavitt also reported that Donald Trump is unaware of being invited by Volodymyr Zelensky. The Ukrainian President invited Trump through an interview on CBS News.

Please, before making any decisions or plans for negotiations, come to see the people, civilians, warriors, hospitals, churches, children destroyed or dead, said the Ukrainian politician.
