U.S.-Iranian talks have been postponed

On Thursday, Oman’s Foreign Ministry announced that the U.S.-Iranian talks regarding Tehran's nuclear program, which were scheduled to take place in the country, would not occur as planned on Saturday, May 3, at 9:00 AM Eastern Time.

The change was explained by "logistical reasons."

The Iranian Foreign Ministry informed journalists that the postponement of the talks occurred after a suggestion from Oman’s foreign minister. Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghei assured that Iran aims to reach a "fair and lasting agreement" and that it will participate "seriously and decisively" in "result-oriented negotiations," reported the Iranian agency IRNA.

Previously, the American portal Axios indicated the possibility of postponing the fourth round of U.S.-Iranian talks, primarily concerning Tehran's nuclear program and the sanctions imposed by Washington on Iran, by a few days. The portal, citing several sources, reported that the talks will most likely be suspended until next week.
