Trump takes aim at Putin, criticizes Zelensky's rhetoric

Vladimir Putin has absolutely gone mad, and if he wants the whole of Ukraine, he will lead to the downfall of Russia, Donald Trump declared on Sunday. The former US President simultaneously criticized statements by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, claiming that everything he says "causes problems".

  • Donald Trump, in a Sunday post on the Truth Social platform, commented on the intensifying bombings of Ukraine by Russia.
  • The former US President reiterated his earlier assertion that "something has happened to Vladimir Putin", going even further in his criticism.
  • He also accused Volodymyr Zelensky of making statements that cause issues for Ukraine.

Trump emphasized that he "always had good relations with Putin", but - as he stated - "something has happened" to the Russian leader. "He has gone absolutely CRAZY! He is needlessly killing a lot of people, and I’m not just talking about soldiers. Missiles and drones are being shot into Cities in Ukraine, for no reason whatsoever," wrote the former US President.

"I’ve always said that he wants ALL of Ukraine, not just a piece of it, and maybe that’s proving to be right, but if he does, it will lead to the downfall of Russia," he added.

Trump harshly on Putin. He also criticized Zelensky

Trump did not spare Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky either. "Likewise, President Zelenskyy is doing his Country no favors by talking the way he does. Everything out of his mouth causes problems, I don’t like it, and it better stop," Trump warned.

He reiterated once again that if he were president, the Russian invasion of Ukraine would not have occurred. "This is Zelenskyy’s, Putin’s, and Biden’s War, not 'Trump’s,' I am only helping to put out the big and ugly fires, that have been started through Gross Incompetence and Hatred," he summed up.

Trump, commenting on the increased Russian airstrikes on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, previously said he would "absolutely" consider imposing new sanctions on Russia, though he wouldn't rule that he would definitely do it.
