Trump vows swift end to lingering Russia-Ukraine conflict

Donald Trump still hopes to end Russia's war with Ukraine. The American president also reiterated that "thousands of young people" die each week on both sides of the conflict. He added that while they are not Americans, they are still people.

Contrary to the original announcements from the United States president's administration, the end of the war between Ukraine and Russia is still far off. Peace negotiations with the Russian delegation are not going according to the United States' wishes.

Vladimir Putin is making demands that cannot be met while continuing to shell Ukrainian towns. An example is the recent bombing of Kryvyi Rih, in which at least 20 people were killed, and several dozen more were injured. The victims are exclusively civilians.

Nevertheless, Donald Trump still believes that he can quickly end the war between Russia and Ukraine. He addressed this during a conversation with journalists in response to a question about the participation of Chinese military personnel fighting on the Russian side.

I expect this war to end "relatively soon" - Trump said, avoiding the topic of Chinese fighters on the front line.

Instead of answering the question directly, Trump again repeated his words that "thousands of young people" die each week on both the Russian and Ukrainian sides. He did not mention that significantly more civilians die on the Ukrainian side than on the Russian side.

Donald Trump stated that every week, in this dramatic conflict, thousands of young people die, Ukrainians, Russians. He acknowledged that they are not Americans, but they are still people. Trump added that his goal is to end this.
