Trump's annual health exam confirms top cognitive abilities
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, enjoys very good health, has fully functional cognitive abilities, and is completely capable of fulfilling the duties of a national leader, according to a medical report released by the president's physician, Sean Barbabella.
On April 11, 2025, President Donald J. Trump underwent his annual medical examination at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. It included diagnostic tests, laboratory work, and consultations with 14 specialists.
The report indicates that a thorough assessment was carried out personally and overseen by the doctor, involving imaging tests, lab analyses, and input from 14 different specialists, all in line with the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommendations. It also notes that the President agreed to make the findings of the examination public.
We learn from it that Trump is 78 years old. He is 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 224 pounds (approximately 102 kg). The document also provided resting heart rate (62 beats per minute), blood pressure (128/74 mmHg), as well as oxygen saturation and body temperature.
"President Trump exhibits excellent cognitive and physical health and is fully fit to execute the duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State," wrote Barbabella in the report released on Sunday by the White House.
All examinations of body systems – cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, neurological, musculoskeletal, and genitourinary – showed no abnormalities. Lungs are clear, the heart functions regularly, and neurological functions are intact. A colonoscopy conducted in July 2024 showed only diverticulosis and a mild colon polyp – another examination is recommended in three years.
Trump's cognitive and neurological fitness beyond reproach
Cognitive functions were assessed at the highest level – 30/30 points on the MoCA test. Screening tests for depression and anxiety were also normal. The skin shows minor sun-induced changes and a few benign lesions, with no signs of cancer.
In the past, President Trump underwent an appendectomy and cataract surgery. He deals with well-controlled high cholesterol, seasonal allergies, past COVID-19, rosacea, actinic keratosis, and diverticulosis.
Trump's lifestyle: No alcohol or cigarettes
He has never consumed alcohol or smoked throughout his life. Currently, he takes medications such as rosuvastatin and ezetimibe (for cholesterol), aspirin (for heart prevention), and mometasone cream (for the skin). All vaccinations, including travel-related ones, are up to date.
According to physician Sean Barbabella, President Trump is in excellent overall health, with particularly strong cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and physical health. He shows complete cognitive and physical capacity, fully able to perform the responsibilities of both Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.
