Trump's economic and immigration policies lose public favour
The latest research shows a decline in support for Donald Trump in the U.S. Americans are not satisfied with his economic and immigration policies.
In April, the company Atlas Intel conducted a survey that revealed a decline in support for U.S. President Donald Trump. The study, referenced by "Newsweek," was conducted from April 10th to 14th on a sample of 2,347 adult Americans. The results show that 52% of respondents disapprove of Trump's actions since he took office, and 56% believe he is doing a "terrible/very poor" job with the economy.
Trump loses support in polls. The president takes a hit over economic policy
One of the main reasons for the decline in support is Trump's trade policy, under which he imposed tariffs on many countries. As many as 51% of Americans oppose these actions, while only 23% support them.
Compared to March, when 48% of respondents criticized his economic policy, this figure has now risen to 56%. This percentage of respondents claims that Trump is doing a "terrible/ very poor" job with the economy.
The issue of immigration has also contributed to the decline in support for Trump. In April, his immigration policy recorded negative support at a minus six-point level, which is a change compared to March when the rating was positive. Nonetheless, as noted by Andrei Roman, Atlas Intel's CEO, immigration remains the highest-rated area of Trump's policy, although it is currently slightly below the line.
