U.S. halts critical intel aid to Ukraine, impacting HIMARS use

According to media reports, the United States has stopped sharing intelligence data with Ukraine. For several days, the Ukrainian military has not received the necessary data to target HIMARS rocket artillery, among other things. As a result, effective use of this system on the front line has become impossible.

According to reports from "The Washington Post" and "The Wall Street Journal," the halt in providing intelligence data occurred even before the argument between the US and Ukrainian presidents at the White House.

"The Washington Post," citing a Ukrainian military officer, reported that in the past month, the United States stopped sending Ukrainian forces the coordinates needed to strike ATACMS missile targets located over 60 kilometres behind the front line.

"The Wall Street Journal" reports that the interruption in sharing intelligence data also included targets for GMLRS rockets, missiles also launched from the HIMARS launcher, but with a range of up to 70 kilometres.

This information was also confirmed in Ukraine by "Economist" journalist Ollie Carroll. "Trump wanted a thank you. We will be writing it on graves of dead Ukrainians," Carroll's interviewee said, referring to the words of the US president during an argument with Zelensky in the Oval Office.

A Ukrainian officer, quoted by "The Washington Post," stated that the interruption of intelligence support would accelerate Russia's assault operations since logistics could be closer to the front line.

"What we were doing with HIMARS — it's painful for them, it's problematic", he said.
