In the context of discussions about a ceasefire in Ukraine, the U.S. Department of State spokesperson, Tammy Bruce, spoke.

"We'll judge Russia by actions, not words. We've struck a deal with Ukraine for critical minerals and energy to fund their rebuilding. Now we need concrete proposals from both sides to end the conflict," she stated.

Peace in Ukraine. Will negotiations resume?

Earlier, Ukraine, along with countries in the so-called coalition of the willing, called on Russia to completely and unconditionally cease military actions from Monday, April 12.

The initiative was also supported by U.S. President Donald Trump, with whom leaders spoke over the phone.

Then Vladimir Putin proposed negotiations. During a nighttime address, the Russian leader proposed that Kyiv resume direct negotiations in Istanbul.

Putin said that, despite everything, they propose that the Kyiv authorities resume negotiations, which they interrupted at the end of 2022, without any preconditions. He announced that he expects a response to his proposal from the Kyiv authorities and their "patrons."
