UK aims to dodge tariffs in talks with Trump

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and U.S. President Donald Trump had a brief phone conversation on Sunday, according to the office of the UK Prime Minister. They discussed progress on the new economic agreement between the two countries.

Will they avoid tariffs?

The United Kingdom hopes that it will be possible to negotiate an agreement to avoid new tariffs imposed by the Trump administration. The U.S. President announced that he will make a decision on this matter on April 2.

- April 2 is a liberating day for our country. We’re getting back to some of the wealth that very, very foolish presidents gave away because they had no clue what they were doing, Trump said in mid-March.
