Ukraine delays key resources deal with Trump administration

In his post, the US President also claims that "Work on the overall Peace Deal between Russia and Ukraine is going smoothly."
Trump hopes for an agreement with Ukraine. A declaration was made
Trump believes that the agreement, which is expected to allow American companies access to Ukrainian deposits of rare earth metals, should be a kind of payment for the aid provided to Ukraine during Joe Biden's presidency.
Furthermore, Americans believe that the presence of US companies in Ukraine will be an additional deterrent to Russia from further aggression after the potential ceasefire agreement.
Kyiv, on the other hand, demands that any future agreement ending the war also includes specific security guarantees for Ukraine.
On Thursday, Zelensky stated that President Trump had proposed a minerals agreement to Ukraine. He explained that Ukrainian officials removed all elements that were incompatible with the country's constitution and promptly agreed to a preliminary memorandum that aligned with national legislation before signing it.
Critics of the agreement fear that it might be an attempt to deprive Ukraine of control over its natural resources and infrastructure. The new draft agreement includes not only rare earth metals but also gas and oil.
