Ukraine downs Russian missile, drones in significant defense push

The Ukrainian military has achieved success in countering Russian air attacks. "Ukrainian forces shot down a hard-to-intercept Iskander-M ballistic missile and nearly 80 out of 126 Russian military strike drones," reported the Ukrainian Air Force Staff on Tuesday morning.

By 3 AM Eastern Time (9 AM in Poland), the downing of an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 79 Shahed and other types of unmanned strike drones in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, and Kherson regions had been confirmed.

"Russian forces launched an Iskander-M missile from near Taganrog in the southwest of their country. The drones were launched from the areas of the cities: Oryol, Shatalovo, Millerovo, Kursk, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk," announced the statement.

Russian side's losses

As a result of Ukrainian defensive actions, 35 drones were neutralized using electronic warfare. Despite this, Russian attacks caused damage in the Donetsk, Odesa, Kharkiv, and Kyiv regions.

"At least two people were injured as a result of the drone strikes," the statement added.
