Zelensky: Letter of intent on mineral agreement with the USA

Zelensky mentioned that a technical meeting on this issue took place last week, which he described as "productive" and "positive." He added that discussions continued from Wednesday into Thursday.

Zelensky stated that Yulia Svyrydenko, First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economic Development and Trade, is collaborating closely with Scott Bessent’s team at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, as well as with Bessent himself. He mentioned that a few days ago, the Americans suggested that the Ukrainians revisit a previous step. This does not change the fact that a letter of intent for the future mineral agreement may be signed today in a remote format.

Zelensky also responded to comments by Trump, who referred to the missile attack on Sumy, which killed over 30 people, as a "mistake." The Ukrainian leader stressed that the Russian operation targeting Sumy cannot be dismissed as a mistake, labeling it a deliberate act of murder aimed at the heart of the city. He underscored that there can be no justification when missiles strike a city's central area.
