  • Ukraine's Defence Minister, Rustem Umerov, stated that Kyiv has already presented its peace conditions. Ukraine is now waiting for Russia's response to continue negotiations.
  • U.S. envoy Keith Kellogg confirmed that Ukraine has submitted its peace proposals. The White House is now expecting a similar document from Moscow to draft a joint agreement.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov declared that Russia is still waiting for Ukraine's response regarding the proposal to hold another round of peace talks in Istanbul. Peskov emphasized that Moscow has not yet received a reply from Kyiv on the proposed meeting for June 2.

In response to suggestions from Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha that Russia should immediately submit a memorandum, Peskov described such an approach as "unconstructive."

What are Ukraine's expectations?

Ukraine's Defence Minister Rustem Umerov stated that Kyiv has already submitted a memorandum regarding a potential agreement and called on Russia to present its terms immediately, rather than waiting until next week. Ukraine expects Russia to present its proposals to continue negotiations.

U.S. envoy Keith Kellogg confirmed that Ukraine has submitted its peace proposals. The White House is now waiting for a similar document from Moscow to draft a joint agreement. Kellogg emphasized that once they receive an "urgent plan" or memorandum from Russia, they will be able to work on a joint document.
