Ukraine vows to end war in 2025 with lasting, just peace
Ukrainian MFA Andrij Sybiha stated that the goal is to bring the war to an end this year, but it’s important not to misuse or distort the meaning of peace. The politician emphasized that his country is striving for a lasting and just resolution to the conflict with Russia.
During the diplomatic forum in Antalya, Andrij Sybiha, head of the Ukrainian MFA, expressed Kyiv's position regarding the end of the war with Russia. He stressed that Ukraine strives for a lasting, just, and comprehensive peace. Sybiha noted that the outcome of the conflict will affect the future security architecture in Europe and the safety of every family on the continent.
Ukraine's clear stance: "We want to end the war this year"
The head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveyed that efforts are underway to end the war this year, but there's a clear warning against twisting the true meaning of peace.
Minister Sybiha emphasized that lasting peace must be connected with dignity. He noted that the "recipe" for ending the war is straightforward: increasing the costs for Russia to conduct the war and strengthening Ukraine. He also pointed to the necessity of keeping the topic of Ukraine's NATO membership at the centre of attention.
According to the Ukrainian MFA, the position remains firm that no outside party should be allowed to block the decision.
Following Russian aggression, Ukraine significantly increased its arms production, reaching the capacity to produce 6 million drones. Ukraine won’t accept any restrictions on its military capacity, nor would it recognize any territory occupied by Russia, as reported by Bloomberg.
