Ukraine's bold drone strike targets Ufa oil refinery, 800 miles deep

The Kyiv Post reports on a fire that broke out overnight from Sunday to Monday at an oil refinery in Ufa, Russia. Ukraine is believed to be behind the attack. Considering that it occurred 800 miles from the border, it is likely the most distant strike of its kind during the war.

The fire occurred at the oil refinery in Ufa, the capital of Russia's Bashkortostan, overnight from Sunday to Monday. Just before the incident, residents reported hearing the sounds of drones in the area.

According to the Kyiv Post, the Bashkortostan Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed the fire but did not specify its cause. They assured that there is no threat to nearby residents.

"One of the deepest strikes of this war"

According to Ukrainian OSINT analysts, the explosion caused significant damage, leading to a large-scale fire.

"Ukrainian drones conducted one of the deepest strikes of this war, hitting the Russian refinery in Ufa, located over 800 miles from the front line," stated a post on platform X. Other sources report that it was the most distant attack of this kind.

As noted by the portal, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported the destruction of seven Ukrainian drones overnight but did not mention any drone activity in Ufa.

At 1 AM Eastern Time, rescue services declared that the fire at the refinery had been extinguished.
