Ukrainian drones ignite fires at Russian fuel depots
Further attacks by Ukrainian drones in Russia. Since Friday evening, a fuel base has been burning in the Kaluga region, which borders Moscow to the north. Drones also attacked a fuel base in the Tula region overnight.
The governor of the Kaluga region, Vladislav Shapsha, announced on Telegram Friday evening that due to the Ukrainian drone attack, a fire broke out at an industrial facility in the town of Ludinovo.
- A task force and rescuers are working at the scene. According to preliminary data, there are no victims - he added.
Several explosions, then a fire broke out
Local Russian channels on Telegram report that the target of the attack was an oil depot in Ludinovo. Local residents reported that around 4:00 PM ET they heard several explosions, after which a fire broke out on the oil depot's premises.
The Kaluganefteprodukt oil depot, a subsidiary of Rosneft, is located in Ludinovo.
The facility has nine tanks with a total capacity of 8.2 million litres.
Overnight, photos and information about a burning fuel base near the town of Uzlovaya in the Tula region appeared on Russian Telegram channels. Tanks with fuel were also reportedly on fire in the town of Dedilovo.
"Last night, the Tula region was attacked by the regime in Kyiv. Air defence forces serving with the Ministry of Defence of Russia are conducting combat operations. A fuel tank caught fire at one of the enterprises in the region," wrote Dmitry Milaev, the governor of the region, on his Telegram profile.
