Ukrainian military intelligence, HUR, carried out a successful sabotage operation in Russia targeting the railway infrastructure in Voronezh.

"Ukrainians immobilized a locomotive in Voronezh that was transporting military equipment. Weapons and other equipment were being transported from Russian enterprises to the occupied territories of Ukraine," reported an intelligence source cited by the Ukrinform agency.

increasing effectiveness of Ukrainian operations

The operation took place earlier this week, targeting the disruption of military transport. This is not the first such operation conducted by HUR. At the end of February, agents carried out a similar operation in the Orekhovo-Zuyevo depot in Moscow Oblast, although the details of this operation have not yet been disclosed.

The Irregular Warfare Initiative portal emphasizes that since the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, logistics has played a key role in the course of the war.

"Ukrainian special operations, collaborating with both Ukrainian and Russian partisans, have launched a campaign aimed at immobilizing Russian railway infrastructure. This unconventional sabotage campaign is gaining increasing momentum, demonstrating the potential effectiveness of this strategy in future conflicts," it was noted.
