Universal's Epic Universe opens: A new era in theme parks
Universal Epic Universe, the newest theme park in Orlando, Florida, is opening its doors to all guests on May 22 of this year. It is the first such venture since 1999, and the attraction offers a journey into as many as five thematic worlds.
The new park features five thematic worlds: Celestial Park, the magical world of Harry Potter, Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, and a zone based on the "How to Train Your Dragon" books and films. Additionally, guests have access to hotels with 500 rooms and a dining area. All of this makes the new attraction the largest park in the region, representing Universal Orlando's most significant investment since 1999.
Five thematic worlds
Celestial Park is the central part of the park, filled with flowers and fountains. Super Nintendo World, on the other hand, is a vibrant place full of colours and sounds, offering multi-level attractions that completely immerse visitors in the world of games.
Dark Universe transports guests to the world of classic horror, featuring characters like Frankenstein and Dracula. Meanwhile, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic is the third installment of the popular series, inviting visitors into the magical world familiar from the Harry Potter films.
In the How to Train Your Dragon - Isle of Berk zone, there will be an abundance of dragons and attractions inspired by Vikings. Visitors can also meet characters from the film.
Tourists will be delighted
The park opens to the public at 9:00 AM, and single-day ticket prices start at $139 (CAD 193) for adults.
Epic Universe will be the third full-fledged theme park at Universal Orlando, joining the existing Universal Studios Florida (opened in 1990) and Universal’s Islands of Adventure (opened in 1999). Additionally, Universal Orlando features the Volcano Bay water park, which began operation in 2017.
