During the night between Friday and Saturday in Paris, an incident occurred that profoundly affected the local Jewish community. Five buildings, including three synagogues, the Museum of Shoah Memory, and the restaurant "Chez Marianne," were defaced with green paint. The French Minister of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau, condemned these actions as "hideous."

The Paris police are actively searching for the person responsible for this act of vandalism. Although surveillance cameras recorded his presence, his disguise makes it challenging to identify him quickly. The mayor of the 4th district, Ariel Weil, recalled a similar incident from May 2024, when red handprints appeared on the Museum of Shoah Memory building, for which Russian services were found responsible.

The mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, announced that the city will take steps to find those responsible and clean the damaged facades.

"I am deeply disgusted by these heinous acts targeting the Jewish community," wrote the French Minister of the Interior on platform X. The President of the Representative Council of Jewish Institutions in France, Yonathan Arfi, expressed his outrage and sadness over these events.

The Fourth District of Paris, where the incident happened, is historically associated with the Jewish community, making this act even more distressing for local residents.
