In the crowd of believers, many white and red flags can be seen. Among them are teachers and students from a Catholic school in Marki. "We want to say goodbye to our dear Pope Francis," they said.
Approximately 200,000 people are participating in Pope Francis' funeral at St. Peter's Square, as announced by the Vatican citing appropriate authorities.

For comparison, around 50,000 believers attended Pope Benedict XVI's funeral in 2023, whereas approximately 300,000 people attended the funeral ceremonies for Pope John Paul II in 2005.
