Visionary filmmaker David Lynch dies at age 78

David Lynch, a distinguished director known for creating "Blue Velvet," "Twin Peaks," and "Mulholland Drive," has died at the age of 78.

David Lynch, a celebrated director who captivated audiences with films such as "The Elephant Man," "Blue Velvet," and "Mulholland Drive," passed away at the age of 78.

Lynch has passed away

Lynch's family confirmed his death in a Facebook post. "It is with deep regret that we, his family, announce the passing of the man and the artist, David Lynch," the statement read. "We would appreciate some privacy at this time," it added.

"There’s a big hole in the world now that he’s no longer with us," Lynch’s family emphasized. "BBt, as he would say, 'Keep your eye on the doughnut and not on the hole,'" it reads.
