Will Ferrell adds Leeds United to his portfolio alongside Hollywood hits
It's common for famous actors to own shares in English football clubs, and Will Ferrell has decided to join them. The media has discussed his investments.
Since early May, rumours have circulated that Ferrell was set to become a shareholder of Leeds United. This English club hopes to return to the Premier League a year after being relegated. Their fate, however, hinges on the playoffs.
Reports from "The Sun" and "Mirror" suggest Ferrell has bought a share package in the 49ers Enterprises group, notable for having shares owned by former swimmer Michael Phelps and actor Russell Crowe.
"It's true, Will Ferrell owns a share of Leeds," a source confirmed to "The Sun."
Leeds United's boss expressed his pleasure over Ferrell's involvement, although he doesn't believe it will directly boost the team's performance as they eye promotion to the Premier League.
