Women narrowly escape train collision in viral Russian video

A terrifying video from Russia is circulating online, showing two women walking along train tracks, evidently deep in conversation and not reacting to an approaching train. In the recording, you can hear the engineer’s reaction.

A viral video from Russia recently appeared on a Facebook account charmingly named Conductor Przemek, which is followed by 26,000 people. "How to effectively discourage wandering on the tracks? Like this," wrote the author of the post.

The women walked on the tracks right in front of an oncoming train

In the recording, the women are seen walking on the tracks, and the person filming is in the engineer’s cabin, just behind his back.

The women are walking at a slow pace, and although the train is getting closer, the walkers, absorbed in conversation, are completely oblivious. Finally, the engineer uses the horn, which he does with undisguised satisfaction.

Upon hearing the horn, the women immediately jump off the tracks to the sides, causing the engineer to laugh heartily. He calls them— to put it mildly—idiots.

The post has received tremendous interest from Conductor Przemek’s followers. It has nearly 5,000 views and close to 160 comments.

Some internet users support the engineer’s behaviour. "And rightly so. If I were him, I’d have hurried them with the bumper—he was going slow enough that they wouldn’t have been harmed, but they would learn their lesson," one reads.

Others point out that the man’s behaviour was irresponsible. "Nothing funny about this. There are probably regulations that require using the horn earlier. If one of them had their foot stuck between the rails, it wouldn’t have been funny," writes another commenter.

However, it cannot be denied that the most irresponsible behaviour was exhibited by the women walking on the tracks. Many internet users point out that the approaching train is indeed barely audible, making such practices extremely dangerous.
