Heorhii Tykhyi, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, expressed outrage at the actions of platform X, owned by Elon Musk. The platform marked a post from the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs concerning the number of children killed due to Russian aggression as "graphic content." Tykhyi accused X of "sweeping Russian war crimes under the rug."

Since when is the number of Ukrainian kids killed by Russia considered "graphic content?" This isn’t preventing users from exposure to graphic content. This is sweeping Russian war crimes under the rug. — wrote Tykhyi in a Saturday entry.

The spokesperson called for this decision to be reversed, describing it as "shameful."

Reaction to censorship

In the post, Tykhyi included screenshots showing that information on the number of children killed due to the Russian invasion had been censored. The graphic, which contained no images, was marked with a warning about "explicit content." This warning has now been removed.

On Friday, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on platform X that during the full-scale war of Russia against Ukraine, at least 616 children had been killed, and 1,869 injured. This information aimed to draw attention to the tragic consequences of the armed conflict.

Further Russian attacks on Ukraine

On the night from Friday to Saturday, Russia attacked targets in the Zaporizhzhia region and in the cities of Kharkiv, Odesa, and Kyiv. A fire broke out in the Ukrainian capital as a result of the attacks, injuring two people. These details were shared by local authorities.

In Kyiv, the fire broke out in two districts, involving residential buildings and a single-family house. The Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, reported this on Telegram. In Kharkiv, as stated by the city’s mayor, Ihor Terekhov, three drones struck the city, injuring one person.

Ivan Fedorov, head of the local authorities of the Zaporizhzhia region, reported that over the past 24 hours, the region was attacked 447 times. Twelve localities were shelled, with most attacks carried out using drones. As a result of these actions, houses and civilian vehicles were damaged. Ukrainian media also reported a Russian drone attack on Odesa, located in the south of Ukraine. Details concerning the impact of this attack have not yet been provided.
