Many reports from Russian media or government representatives are elements of propaganda. These reports are part of the information war conducted by the Russian Federation.

The spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a leading Kremlin propagandist, Maria Zakharova, called Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Washington a "complete political and diplomatic failure of the Kyiv regime".

Zakharova talks about the Kremlin's goals

Zakharova claimed that the Ukrainian president is "obsessed" with prolonging the war and added that Moscow's goals remain unchanged - "demilitarization" of Ukraine and annexation of all territories currently occupied by Russia.

"With his outrageously rude behaviour during his stay in Washington, Zelensky confirmed that he is the most dangerous threat," she tried to argue.

She further stated that for Zelensky, it was "the unprecedented 'sobering scolding' in the history of international politics and diplomacy, delivered by the American president to Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House." She said the situation in the US is "evidence of the political weakness and extreme moral degradation of those European leaders who continue to advocate support for the deranged leader of the Nazi regime who has lost touch with reality."

Experts warn

American patriots should be concerned if Russia, which describes the US as its greatest adversary, is pleased with the actions of the President of the United States, warned Keir Giles, a British expert from the Chatham House think tank, in an interview with PAP.

"If Russian propagandists and officials, who see the US as their greatest adversary, are delighted with Donald Trump's actions, it should be a signal to American patriots that things are not going in the best direction," said Giles.

According to the expert, Friday's dispute in the Oval Office between the Presidents of the US and Ukraine, Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky, was a confirmation of a shift in the balance of power, which was initiated earlier by a phone call from Trump to Russian leader Vladimir Putin and offering the Kremlin terms for ending the war that Putin had hoped for.
