Zelensky urges global pressure as Russian attacks intensify
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, in a new statement, emphasizes that hundreds of attacks on Ukrainian cities demonstrate that Russia does not want to end the war. He calls on countries to apply international pressure on the aggressor.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in a Sunday statement drew attention to the intensity of Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities. As he pointed out, Russia shows no willingness to end the conflict, which requires a decisive international response.
Zelensky reported that in the last week, Russia carried out hundreds of attacks on Ukrainian cities and communities. Among the attacked regions were the Chernihiv, Kherson, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa, Poltava, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Sumy oblasts. The Russians used over 1,020 assault drones, nearly 1,360 guided aerial bombs, and over 10 missiles of various types.
This is definitely not the way of those who want to end the war as quickly as possible. Therefore, together we must apply pressure on Russia to end its aggression - Zelensky wrote on Telegram.
Sanctions and international cooperation
Zelensky emphasized that decisive measures are needed, including sanctions, which should not only be maintained but continuously strengthened. The cooperation of Ukraine, Europe, America, and all those who desire peace is crucial to ensuring a just and lasting peace.
Ukraine, Europe, America, and everyone around the world who wants peace - together we can ensure a just and lasting peace - added the president.
Vladimir Putin spoke on the US-Ukrainian agreements regarding a possible ceasefire. He stated that Russia is interested in "lasting peace". In his opinion, achieving this will only be possible after eliminating "the root causes of the conflict," which Putin did not specify.
