Americans wary of Trump's Russia stance and territorial plans
Fifty-six percent of Americans, including 27 percent of Republican voters, believe that US President Donald Trump is too lenient towards Russia, while 40 percent disagree, according to a survey by Ipsos for Reuters. Most oppose the annexation of Canada, Greenland, and Gaza.
As reported by Reuters, 56 percent of respondents (89 percent of Democrats and 27 percent of Republicans) agreed with the statement that Donald Trump is too lenient towards Russia, while 40 percent disagreed with it.

Meanwhile, 44 percent of respondents (but only 20 percent of Democrats) supported the idea of making further support for Ukraine conditional upon the US receiving a portion of that country's mineral resources.
The survey also suggests low support for Trump's expansionist ambitions, especially regarding Canada and taking control over the Gaza Strip. Only 17 percent support incorporating Canada into the United States, while 21 percent support the annexation of the Gaza Strip—on which Trump's peace plan is based—inclusive of one-third of Republicans.
Reuters suggests that the idea of the US regaining control over the Panama Canal enjoys greater support, with 65 percent of Republicans in favour (the dispatch did not provide overall support for the idea), yet 89 percent of Democrats oppose it.
Most are also against the annexation of Greenland: this claim is supported by 45 percent of Republicans, while 89 percent of Democrat supporters are against it.
