On Saturday, Israel stated that claims about civilian casualties are being analysed. It also assured that measures are being taken to minimise them and blamed Hamas, which operates in populated areas.

The health ministry, associated with Hamas, claims that during the 19-month military campaign, Israel has killed over 53,000 Palestinians, mainly women and children. The AP agency notes that the ministry does not specify how many Hamas militants have been killed.
