Greenland opposes Trump
The Greenlandic authorities expressed dissatisfaction with Donald Trump's repeated remarks about taking control of the island. After a crisis meeting convened by Greenland's Prime Minister Mute Egede, they issued a unique statement.
"We — all party chairmen — cannot accept the repeated statements on annexation and control of Greenland," wrote the leaders of all five parties in the Greenlandic parliament.
Residents announced an anti-American demonstration
"We as party leaders find this behaviour unacceptable towards friends and allies in a defence alliance [NATO-ed. note]," they emphasised. They added that they would continue to work for Greenland through diplomatic channels in accordance with international law and regulations.
On Saturday at 13:00 GMT, the residents have announced an anti-American demonstration in front of the US consulate in the capital of Greenland, Nuuk.
