Koenigsegg speeds towards 224 mph mark: The battle of hypercars

The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is one of the most impressive hypercars in history. The car already boasts several records to its name. Now, we can add another to the list.

Koenigsegg published a video on Instagram showing the Jesko Absolut catapulting over a half-mile distance. The attempt took place at the brand's test track in Sweden and ended with a staggering result of 224 mph. This is the highest speed ever achieved by a production car over such a short stretch.

Koenigsegg achieved this feat in 13.27 seconds. Although impressive, it does not set a new record. In this field, the Swedes had to concede to the Croatians and the electric Rimac Nevera. However, they take consolation in holding the 1/4 mile record for combustion cars. The 8.88 seconds officially belong to Koenigsegg.

I suspect this won’t be the end. The Swedes are already planning further attempts, including an endeavour to break the speed record. The company is seeking a suitable location for such an undertaking. Christian von Koenigsegg is confident and even talks about achieving 330 mph, or if you prefer, 330 mph. Madness!
