Many of the reports shared by Russian media and officials are likely untrue. Such information could be part of an informational war from the Russian Federation.

Kremlin spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, stated that Moscow is pleased with the current progress of talks with the US. He emphasised that the dialogue is developing in a "pragmatic, constructive and productive" manner, which is "yyielding results." Thanks to contacts between Russia and the United States, they were able to quickly agree on a list of Ukrainian and Russian facilities subject to a temporary moratorium on strikes on energy infrastructure.

After the discussions concluded, the United States made separate arrangements with Ukraine and Russia. These documents include commitments to ensure safe navigation and eliminate the use of force. The parties also agreed on the implementation of measures to enforce the agreement prohibiting attacks on the energy infrastructure of both countries.

One of the main topics of discussion was the so-called Black Sea Grain Initiative, agreed upon in July 2022 through the mediation of Turkey and the UN. This agreement allowed the export of nearly 33 million metric tonnes of Ukrainian agricultural products through the Black Sea. Russia withdrew from the initiative after a year, arguing that its food and fertiliser exports were hindered.

Conditions for a ceasefire in the Black Sea

Russia has published a document indicating that the ceasefire in the Black Sea will only take effect after the sanctions on Russian entities such as the agricultural bank, insurance companies, ports, and ships are lifted. Meanwhile, Ukraine, with the help of drones and other military means, has managed to push Russia out of a large part of the Black Sea and continues grain transportation.

Dmitry Peskov noted that the grain initiative could be reactivated once certain conditions, envisaged at the beginning of the agreement, are implemented.

The previous grain initiative worked for some time, with almost all conditions fulfilled within it, referring to the beginnings of the initiative.

American-Russian and American-Ukrainian talks ended on Tuesday, resulting in new agreements that could impact the stabilisation of the region.
