What eggs should you choose for dyeing?

Before we start dyeing, it's worth considering the choice of the right eggs. Not all eggs are equally suitable for this purpose. Eggs with a light shell work best, as they absorb dyes better.

How to dye eggs? Dyeing eggs using natural methods is not only a return to tradition but also a way to avoid chemical dyes. One of the most popular methods is using onion skins. Simply place them in a pot, add eggs, cover with water, and cook for about 10 minutes. The result? Beautiful, orange Easter eggs that will impress everyone.

Another way is to dye eggs with red cabbage. Although the name may suggest a different colour, the eggs will take on a beautiful blue hue. Just cook them in a cabbage broth and leave them for a few hours to set the colour. For those who love intense colours, beetroots are perfect, as they give the eggs a deep, purple colour.

You can also use turmeric for dyeing eggs. It's an excellent natural dye that gives the eggs an intense, golden colour. To dye the eggs, boil about a litre of water with three tablespoons of turmeric, 1.5 tablespoons of salt, and vinegar. Place the pre-cooked eggs in the broth and leave them for about two hours.

How to dye eggs blue? To do this, you need fresh or frozen blueberries. Boil water in a pot, add a cup of blueberries, and cook for a few minutes until the berries release their juice. Boil water in a pot, add a large handful of fresh spinach or parsley, and cook for a few minutes until the water turns green. As with the previously mentioned methods, the next step is to strain the liquid, add a tablespoon of vinegar, and place the cooked eggs in the mixture for a few hours.
