According to "The Wall Street Journal," Zelensky encouraged Trump to press Putin on accepting the ceasefire proposal and organising a direct meeting of the three politicians.

According to the report, Zelensky responded by urging Trump to pressure Putin into accepting a 30-day ceasefire and agreeing to a future meeting with Zelensky, in which Trump could also take part. Additionally, Trump would reaffirm to Putin that the United States will not make any decisions concerning Ukraine without Kyiv’s direct involvement.
