Why is Trump suing CBS News?

Donald Trump announced on the Truth Social platform that he has filed a lawsuit against CBS News and Paramount. The former U.S. president accuses the network of unfair reporting on his decisions and manipulating responses in the "60 Minutes" programme. Trump claims these actions were intended to unlawfully support Kamala Harris's candidacy in the 2024 presidential elections.

What are the allegations against CBS News?

What's next with the lawsuit against CBS News?

Trump believes the network should lose its licence for allegedly acting on political orders. He informed on social media that he has filed a lawsuit concerning what he considers unfair reporting on the actions of the presidential administration. "I am so honoured to be suing 60 Minutes, CBS Fake News, and Paramount, over their fraudulent, beyond recognition, reporting. They did everything possible to illegally elect Kamala, including completely and corruptly changing major answers to Interview questions, but it just didn’t work for them," Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform.

The American leader accused CBS of "a dishonest Political Operative simply disguised as 'News.'" "They should lose their license! Hopefully, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), as headed by its Highly Respected Chairman, Brendan Carr, will impose the maximum fines and punishment, which is substantial, for their unlawful and illegal behaviour," he wrote.
