During Volodymyr Zelensky's recent visit to the White House, a tense situation arose, which ended in a quarrel. Volodymyr Petraniuk, director of the Kyiv theatre "Zwierciadło," said that Zelensky's emotions are understandable because he himself is an artist.

"Zelensky's emotions come through when serious topics arise. It shouldn't be this way, but he got carried away and I understand that because I am also an actor and director," explains the director of the Kyiv theatre.

Increase in support for Zelensky

Petraniuk notes that despite the controversy, this situation has contributed to an increase in support for Zelensky in Ukraine, even among nationalists.

"Trump increased support for Zelensky in our nation. Now even nationalists support him!" says Petraniuk.

After the argument with Donald Trump, the United States halted weapon supplies and the sharing of intelligence data with Ukraine. Petraniuk emphasises that Trump doesn't even respect his predecessors, which is problematic.

Petraniuk is disappointed with Trump's stance, which, in his view, aligns with Putin. "This is a big problem, and we need to find a way to solve it," he adds.

The scenario at the White House highlights how crucial it is to comprehend the contexts and motivations of leaders. These events could have lasting implications for Ukraine's relationship with the United States.
